Out and About

There is so much to see and do in the local area that it is impossible to complete in one visit. There is something for everyone from action packed adventure to complete relaxation.

Beaches

Kalkan has its own small beach alongside the harbour within easy reach of cafes.
Kaputas Beach is a 15 minute drive along the scenic coastal road to Kas. A stunning sandy cove at the foot of the cliffs with beautiful turquoise water.
Patara Beach is 18 km of golden sand. Backed by sand dunes it is a protected nature reserve for the loggerhead turtles that lay their eggs here. Perfect for swimming and listed in the worlds top ten beaches.

Boat Trips

A relaxing day trip sailing around Kalkan Bay and Islands with stops for swimming and snorkelling. Lunch is included on board and drinks available from the bar. Boats leave daily from the Harbour and private boat parties can also be booked.
Combine a day at sea with ancient history and take a boat trip from Kas to visit the sunken city of Kekova, submerged in the Mediteranean.

Rafting

White water rafting is available as a group tour or there is more relaxing river kayaking with a break for a mud bath and swimming. A lazy float down the river on rubber tubes is also available at Saklikent Gorge or locally near to Patara.

SCUBA Diving

Diving is superb in the Kalkan Bayand Turkey is the ideal place to learn for beginners. Dive boats leave daily from the harbour and accompanying members who do not dive can go along for swimming and snorkelling.

Watersports

Around the Bay of Kalkan are a number of beach clubs. Cut into the rockside they offer sunbathing, swimming and restaurant facilities. Many have pedaloes, canoes, banana boats and jet ski. A free water taxi service is provided by all the clubs from the harbour and some include free use of sun loungers and parasols.
