Kalkan

The deep blue colour of the crystal clear warm waters gives the name to the Turquoise Coast of southwest  Turkey.

Kalkan is a small, peaceful fishing village which hasn’t really been touched by mass tourism. Its winding cobbled streets and terraces of whitewashed bougainvillea clad buildings descend to the colourful harbour. It has the feel of a quaint Cornish village.  There are many harbourside and rooftop restaurants offering both Turkish and International menus with prices to suit all pockets. There are numerous, small boutique-style shops which sell jewellery, leather goods, ceramics and, of course, carpets. There is a bustling weekly general market as well as a small daily fish market.

From the harbour you can take a boat trip with lunch included and swim in the crystal clear waters around the bay.
